New investors can go to a Firm that offers the Stock "Slice" Program, open an account, deposit the amount you wish to invest and purchase $5 of a Stock, ETF or Index. The "Fraction" of what you purchase will sit in your account until you decide to sell it or purchase more of it.
An ETF designed to have it's sole purpose to provide expose to a Cryptocurrency like Bitcoin has not yet been approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. At least 20 ETF applications have been submitted to the SEC including large Financial Institutions like Fidelity. The SEC seems to be concerned about "Risk" and "Liquidity" in the Cryptocurrency markets. Some familiar with that market suggest that the first U.S. ETF may be approved in 2022. Canada approved its first Bitcoin ETF in early 2021.
The ETFs currently trading on recognized exchanges that are involved in the Crypto-Currencies Market, use "Futures" contracts on Crypto-Currencies as well as investing in companies that hold large quantities of Crypto-Currencies.
